Sassy, little Miss Scarlett is looking for a fun-loving home. She is an energetic young lady that loves to run and play and would benefit from a doggie playmate and securely fenced yard. We think Scarlett is 2.5 yrs.. old and weights in at 27 lbs. She is a beautiful red coloration and has sweet, gent;e nature. Scarlett is crate trained and doing well with housebreaking. She is still going through a "chewing phase" and can be very quick to grab anything that appeals to her. We're working with that but if you have young children that leave toys, clothes, etc. about she may not be the best choice. We prefer to adopt in the St. Louis, MO. area ONLY. UPDATE 4/30/11: Scarlett is going to have ear surgery on 5/6 and the estimated cost is $1,300. UPDATE: 9/1/11 Scarlett's ear surgery was a success! Her right ear canal was closed up with scar tissue from chronic, untreated ear infections. Because of the blockage there was no way for medication to get down to where it was needed and she would have spent a lifetime with painful infections. The ear canal was removed and her ear was sewn shut. That ear now droops but we think it gives her an even more endearing look. After healing from the surgery, Scarlett developed an infection in her other ear It has cleared up with cleaning and medication. An adopter should be aware that infection might occur again in her "good" ear and be willing and diligent about cleaning the ear several times a month to avoid infection. We will include her cleaner and any medication that may be left over. The adoption fee for Scarlett is $350.00
